KHUZDAR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested three suspected terrorists belonging to a banned outfit in an operation conducted in an area on the outskirts of Khuzdar, officials said here on Saturday.

They said acting on a tip-off about the presence of some terrorists in the area, personnel of the CTD Kalat Range and other security forces jointly raided a hideout of the banned organisation late on Friday night. They cordoned off the area and arrested the three suspected terrorists.

The officials said some weapons and ammunition were also found from the hideout. The seized items included one remote control, four IEDs, one Kalashnikov, 30 rounds, 25-kilogram explosive material and other prohibited items which could be used for terrorist activities.

They said the arrested men were being interrogated.

The arrested men belonged to banned militant outfit Baloch Liberation Army, the CTD officials said, adding that they were involved in attacks on security forces and other criminal activities.
