ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) and Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) on Thursday informed a parliamentary panel that incumbent government has imposed a cut on their annual funding.

Meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), which held here at parliament house with MNA Agha Hassan Baloch in the chair, was briefed by officials of the two bodies about lack of funding.

PTF president Salim Saifullah Khan and PSF’s senior vice-president PSF Air Marshal Aamir Masood told the committee that earlier federation used to get around Rs3 million annual grant, but that has been slashed, causing problems for federations.

It is relevant to note here, the PSF used to get Rs3.5 million and PTF Rs3 million annual grant, but last year, the government released Rs1.5 million each for the said federations.

The committee assured both federations that it would play its due role in helping the federation to get required funds from the government.

The PTF and PSF officials also briefed the committee about their achievement and future plans.
