LAHORE: A woman and her minor daughter were run over and killed by a speeding car at Karol Ghatti here on Monday night.

According to the police, Musarat, 37, was crossing the road along with her minor daughter Anam, 7, when the car struck them, killing them on the spot.

The car driver, however, fled the scene taking advantage of the darkness.

A passer-by alerted the police which reached the spot and shifted bodies to the city morgue.

A police official said the deceased were on their way back home after purchasing some edibles from a local market.

He said the police were trying to access the CCTV cameras to trace the car driver.

No application was filed so far by the family of the woman to lodge case against the driver.
