PESHAWAR, Sept 30: Nowshera Youth defeated Malakand 5-4 after penalty shootouts to enter the semifinals of the Nowshera Cup football at Farooq A Shiekh Stadium on Friday.

Malakand grabbed lead through right-winger Fazal in the 18th minute. Fazal took the ball from his link-man Javed and slammed in a beautiful goal.

Malakand played defensively afterwards and just managed to keep the lead intact till the end of first-half, but they failed in their efforts in the second-half when Murad Khan levelled it off a field attempt for Nowshera Youth.

The teams were awarded five penalty shootouts each after they remained locked at 1-1 till the end of stipulated time.
