Smart lockdown will be imposed in Balochistan’s Covid hotspots

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to impose smart lockdown in Quetta and some other towns and cities in the province in view of increasing cases of Covid-19.

The home department issued a notification on Wednesday and declared wearing face mask mandatory for people in offices, markets, hotels and on buses. It said action would be taken against those found without wearing mask.

“Smart lockdown would be imposed in the areas identified as hotspots,” the notification said.

According to the notification, it was also decided that all recreational spots would be closed at 6pm, while shopping malls, marriage halls and restaurants would remain open till 10pm in Quetta.
