RAWALPINDI: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) captain Mubashir Ali scored five goals against Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in a convincing victory for his team in the league match of National Championship here at Mari Petroleum Hockey Stadium on Thursday.

SSGC have climbed to the number three spot on the points table only placed below the top-ranked National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Wapda. While Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) are currently languishing at number four.

Meanwhile, in the first match of the day, Port Qasim beat Police 4-1 as their forwards Sami, Abuzar, Hamad and Taha scored one goal each. While, the lone goal from Police was scored by their striker Mohsin.

Similarly, Wapda thrashed MPCL 3-1 with Ijaz, Aleem Bilal and Aleem Uman scoring one goal each. From MPCL, only Tanzeem-ul-Hasan managed to net the ball.

Whereas, NBP with a brace from Irslan Qadir and Bilal Qadir and Amir’s one goal each overcame the Army 4-2. Army’s Waseem and Farhan scored one goal each to reduce the victory margin.

In last match of the day, Navy outclassed Punjab 3-1. Navy’s Nauman, Akbar and Hamad scored one goal each while the Punjab forward Zain scored only one goal.
