Wajahat to lead champions

LAHORE, Sept 29: Test discard Wajahatullah Wasti will lead defending champions Peshawar in next month’s Quaid-i-Azam Trophy, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Thursday.

Likewise, Aamir Bashir will skipper Multan.

The PCB also announced the Inter-region under-19 squads of Peshawar and Multan.

Quaid Trophy squads:

PESHAWAR: Wajahatullah Wasti (captain), Fazle Akbar (vice-captain), Riffatullah Mohmand, Aftab Khan, Shoaib Khan, Akhtar Sarfraz, Nawaz Ahmed, Mohammad Fayyaz, Sajjad Ahmed, Zulfiqar Jan (wicket-keeper), Aslam Qureshi, Waqar Ahmed, Riaz Afridi, Fazle Akbar, Taimur Khan, Janisar Khan.

Reserves: Mian Adnan, Akbar Badshah, Abrar Khan, Noman Habib, Kashif Hayat (wicket-keeper).

MULTAN: Aamir Bashir (captain), Usman Tariq, Saeed Anwar Jr, Yasir Arafat, Azhar Shafiq, Mohammad Ali Niazi, Asif Iqbal, Bilal Khilji, Aamir Ata (wicket-keeper), Kamran Hussain, Abdur Rauf, Mohammad Irshad, Tahir Maqsood, Zulfiqar Babar, Majid Majeed.
