KOHAT: Qaumi Watan Party provincial chairman Sikandar Sherpao said here on Tuesday that public rally of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) on November 22 would prove the last nail in the coffin of the ‘selected’ government.

Addressing a ceremony at Kohat Press Club, he said that Pakistan was isolated in the world owing to flawed foreign policy of the government.

On the occasion, several political activists including Asif Khan, Bokhari and Mahmoodul Islam joined QWP. QWP leaders Adnan Wazir, Asad Afridi and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion.

Sikandar Sherpao said that they could not tolerate running of the province through remote control from Islamabad and wanted provincial autonomy. He said that ‘selected’ leaders failed to deliver which was evident from their seven-year rule.

He slammed the government for keeping oil and gas rich southern districts backward. He that in the entire world, the regions that had resources like oil, gas, electricity and water, developed fast but the southern region lagged behind in every sphere of life.

The QWP leader criticised delay in construction of Peshawar-D I Khan and Kohat-Rawalpindi motorways promised by the chief minister and the prime minister a year ago. He added that Chashma Right Bank Canal project, which they had included through the former federal minister Ishaq Dar, was removed from PSDP.

He denounced the government for not providing category A facilities to KDA hospital and funds to the under-construction women and children hospital in Kohat.

He said that prices of medicines were registering 300 per cent increase while high rates of flour, sugar and other daily use items had made lives of people miserable. He said every household was affected by the policies of the government.

Sikandar Sherpao said that the price of flour was doubled during the last two and half years. He said that the skyrocketing prices of daily use items were eye opener for people.

He alleged that government ruined the smoothly running health system and made it difficult for the poor to get treatment at the government hospitals.
