579 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Sindh, the highest daily jump since end-July, taking the provincial tally to 148,922, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Three more people lost their lives from the virus, with Sindh's death toll rising to 2,667.

A total of 10,330 tests were carried out during the last 24 hours in Sindh, showing that the provincial positivity rate was 5.6 per cent.

"We can’t contain the virus until our people make the SOPs part of their lives; otherwise I would have no option but to impose restrictions," Shah was quoted as saying by his office.
