MANSEHRA: The district administration sealed the Government High School for Girls here on Monday after four students tested positive for coronavirus.

Disinfection of the building and rooms began after the school was sealed by additional assistant commissioner Sundus Arshad Malik on the orders of deputy commissioner Dr Qasim Ali Khan for five days.

Dr Qasim told reporters during a visit to the Government Boys High School that the number of Covid-19 cases had been increasing in the region since the start of the winter season.

He said the assistant commissioners were paying surprise visits to schools and colleges in their respective tehsils to check the implementation of the standard operating procedures.

Also in the day, assistant commissioner Jawad Sardar Marwat visited the main bus terminal and checked if transport drivers and commuters followed anti-coronavirus guidelines.

PTI DIFFERENCES: The PTI’s regional governing body has decided to intervene to settle differences between federal minister for narcotics control Azam Khan Swati and local lawmaker Babar Saleem Swati to strengthen the party.

“We have decided to bring both Swatis to the table to end differences as the party is suffering due to internal,” spokesman for the governing body Ajmal Khan told reporters here on Monday.

Mr Ajmal said the governing body met with president Ali Asghar Khan in the chair and members, including general secretary and MNA Ali Khan Jadoon, in attendance.

He said the party’s re-organisation in all 26 tehsils of eight districts in Hazara division would be completed in the next 10 days.

PRICE CONTROL: Deputy commissioner Dr Qasim Ali Khan has asked commission agents to bring fruit and vegetable prices down to prevent crackdown.

“The district administration through its representatives determines prices of fruits and vegetables every morning in front of you but vendors sell these essential items at higher prices.
