Gold for Pakistani women golfers

ISLAMABAD, Sept 28: Pakistan captured a gold medal in the team event in the ongoing 4th Women Islamic Games at Tehran (Iran), according to reports available on Wednesday.

Besides team event gold medal, Pakistan’s Jamila Jabbar landed silver medal and Tahira Nazir won bronze medal in the individual event.

Pakistani girls took their gold medal tally thus far to five.

Swimmers hauled up three gold medals, one silver and three bronze medals for the Pakistani contingent which competed in 11 disciplines. Kiran Khan won two of these golds while Rubab Raza claimed one.

Besides one gold by Zeenat Perveen, Pakistan also clinched one silver and two bronze medals in athletics while Carla Khan’s silver was the only medal in squash.

The Pakistani campaigners in table tennis grabbed one bronze medal.
