QUETTA: The Balochi Academy has approved a resolution regarding promotion of the Balochi language in schools, colleges and universities.

The newly elected office-bearers of the academy took oath at the 62nd meeting of the literary organisation on Sunday. Senior member of the Balochi Academy Ulfat Naseem administrated oath to them. The new body has been elected unopposed.

The resolution said standard syllabus of the Balochi language was necessary and it was the responsibility of the government to introduce the standard syllabus for schools, college and universities.

The resolution declared the current syllabus substandard. It said the Balochi Academy will provide maximum possible assistance to the Balochistan Text Book Board for establishing a standard Balochi language syllabus. The academy may assist the Balochistan Text Book Board in this regard if provided representation, it added.
