Kidnap victim returns home after 17 days

MARDAN, Sept 28: The missing son of a gynaecologist and an officer of Pesco (Wapda), Mardan, Mian Zainul Abiddin, returned home with a broken finger under mysterious circumstances. He had been missing for 17 days.

His mother, Dr Chaman Aara, narrated the story of her son’s disappearance.

Mian Zainul Abiddin had gone out two days before his wedding to distribute cards among friends in Peshawar on Sept 12, but he did not return. Relatives started lokking for him but could not find him..

Mian Zainul Abiddin reached home in late Tuesday night. It is learnt that he was taken by the abductors to Multan. Dr Chaman Ara said that on Monday, a mysterious call of her son was received and he told family members that he was in Data Darbar at Lahore and would reach Nowshera on Tuesday.

She said that on Tuesday’s morning, they knew nothing except that her son had arrived in Nowshera.

He rang up the house telephone late in the evening and asked her to send one servant to Nowshera as he was staying in a hotel there. She said she met him but later on he was taken by police for interrogation.

He returned home in a miserable condition and one of his fingers was broken. He said that he had been severly beaten up by the kidnappers.
