PESHAWAR, Sept 28: A meeting of the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee on Home Department was held under the chairmanship of MPA Anwar Kamal Khan Marwat in the conference room of the NWFP Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday.

MPA Khalid Waqar Chamkani, AIG Police Khurshid Alam Khan, Deputy Secretary Law Naeem Iqbal, Budget Officer Taj Mohammad, DD Audit Mohammad Jamil, Audit Officer Jan Asrar, Budget Officer Police Javed Khan, DDA Police Asmatullah, DS Administration Home and TAs Zakir Hussain, Assistant Secretary NWFP Assembly Amjad Khan and other officers of the police and audit departments attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the alleged misappropriation of funds in the purchase of jackets, caps, clothes and other items for the police department in different districts and checked the inquiry reports so far submitted by the concerned quarters.

The members of the committee in the light of observations carried out by the audit department, asked for complete record regarding authorisation, demand, purchase, movement record and confirmation and collection reports. Some of the paras were dropped. The committee also discussed the ambiguities in some paras and reserved recommendations.

PGMI: The Post-Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar which is providing training to doctors for higher studies in various specialities, has invited applications for FCPS-II training.

Last date for submission of applications has been fixed on Oct 22 while interview will be held on Dec 10, 2005 at 9am at PGMI Hayatabad, Peshawar.

The candidates, appearing in FCPS-I examination to be held in Nov 2005, are also eligible to apply after declaration of result but not later than Nov 28, 2005. The forms can be obtained on payment of Rs500 from the PGMI Hayatabad, Peshawar.
