SUKKUR: Two terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were shot dead in an encounter with a joint police team of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sukkur and Karachi in Jaffarabad area here on Sunday, said police.

Karachi CTD in-charge Chaudhry Sadfar told media persons that the action was taken on the basis of secret information. The TTP terrorists identified as Mohammad Anwar and Mujeebullah suffered serious wounds in the encounter and were shifted to near by hospital where they succumbed to their injuries, he said.

He said that 300 ball bearings, one kilogram of explosives, 600 grams of nuts and bolts, 300 grams of iron nails, one meter long wire for detonator, two TT pistols and their rounds of bullets were found in the possession of the terrorists.

He said the terrorists had arrived in Sukkur to commit a subversive action during Milad gatherings but CTD police succeeded to foil their nefarious designs.
