RAWALPINDI: Two children died after being trapped in a fire that started in their house located on Misrial Road on Monday.

According to rescue officials, the two boys, 18 months old and three years old, Adil and Salman were in a room when the fire started and their parents were not home.

Upon seeing smoke emitting from the house, people from the neighborhood called emergency services, following which firefighters rushed to the scene. By that time, the entire house was burning.

While quoting eye witnesses, officials said that the victims’ father was at work while their mother had gone out to pick up their sibling and locked the house from outside.

Cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained by the fire department. The deceased were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for autopsy.
