KHUZDAR: A strike was observed in Khuzdar town and other areas of the district on Friday to protest the killing of a religious scholar in Karachi a few days ago.

The strike was called by the Ulema Committee and endorsed by political parties to register the protest over the killing of Maulana Dr Adil Khan. The Maulana and his driver were killed in a targeted attack. All business centres and bazaars remained closed throughout the day.

The district administration deployed heavy contingents of police in the town and important places to prevent any untoward incident.

Vehicular traffic also remained thin during the strike. Police and FC personnel kept patrolling the town.
