TANK: Driver of a rickshaw was killed and nine schoolchildren travelling in it were injured when the three-wheeler collided with a pickup van near Sangeen Kot within the Gomal police station jurisdiction here on Monday.

According to the police, the rickshaw was carrying children to a school in Dabara area from Gomal village when it met the accident. They said that the pickup van was coming from the opposite direction.

They said that driver of the rickshaw identified as Misal Khan was killed on the spot, while nine children were wounded.

The injured children were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, Tank. They were identified as Amirullah, Ubaidullah, Mohammad Awais, Said Anwar, Mohammad Husain, Amanulla, Mir Khatam, Ikramullah and Mohammad Aziz.
