According to a statement issued from the deputy commissioner’s office here, the sealed outlets included 14 mega malls, 13 schools and four wedding halls in various parts of the provincial metropolis.

It was stated that the SOPs violation could cause another wave of coronavirus in Peshawar, adding the crackdown was carried out after the violators failed to follow precautions despite having been sent notices.

It said 13 schools were sealed and 26 others were issued notices to follow the SOPs or face legal action.

At least 100 shops were sealed in the Shafi Market, 700 shops were sealed on the Jinnah Park Road and 200 shops in Kamran Market Charsadda Road.

Several markets and shops were sealed during raids on the University, Kohat, Charsadda, Bara, Hayatabad, Warsak and Ring roads.
