ISLAMABAD: The government has extended tenure of incumbent chairman Federal Board of Revenue Muhammad Javed Ghani for another three months.

Mr Ghani was given the additional charge of FBR chairman on July 4, 2020 for a period of three months until the appointment of a regular chairman.

After the lapse of three months, the government did not appoint Mr Ghani as regular chairman or find someone else to effectively run the affairs of tax machinery.

Mr Ghani is the fourth head of the FBR since the PTI took office in July 2018.
