PARIS: Stade Rennes’ four-match winning run ended with a 2-2 draw against struggling Reims in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Rennes could have won in stoppage time but Steven Nzonzi’s header hit the post.

They still moved back to the top of the table, above Lille on goals scored with both teams having 14 points and the same goal difference. Reims have just two points from their opening six matches.

Reims captain Yunis Abdelhamid headed in a corner in the 11th minute to give the visitors a surprise lead but goals from Raphinha and Damien Da Silva ensured Rennes led at the break.

However, Boulaye Dia barged through the home defence before slotting home the goal that would give Reims a point in the 66th minute.

Lille moved above fierce rivals Lens with a comfortable 3-0 win at Strasbourg thanks to goals from Zeki Celik, Renato Sanches and Burak Yilmaz which maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

Lille have one more point than third-placed Lens. The two teams meet in the next round in the Derby du Nord.

Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais continued their shaky starts to the season with a 1-1 draw that leaves both sides languishing in mid-table.

Dimitri Payet’s smart finish opened the scoring in the 16th for Marseille but was shown a straight red card just two minutes later for a dangerous tackle.

Houssem Aouar levelled from the penalty spot just before the half hour mark and that’s how the scores remained.

Also on Sunday, it was: Montpellier 0, Nimes 1; Girondins Bordeaux 3, Dijon 0; Brest 1, Monaco 0; and Metz 3, Lorient 1.
