JACOBABAD, Sept 25: A powerful blast destroyed a 20-inch portion of a gas pipeline on the Sindh-Balochistan border in the jurisdiction of Bhittai colony police station at the G-2 point near Kashmore on Sunday. According to reports, terrorists planted a heavy bomb at the G-2 point which exploded and blew up a portion of the gas pipeline.

The blast caused an eight feet crater.

Fear gripped the people of the area.

Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.

Gas supply from Sui to Punjab was suspended.

The bomb squad was called from Sukkur.

The bomb squad team in-charge, Malik Tahir, reached the spot.

He said it was a timebomb which weighed 10 lbs.

The Sui Southern Gas Company, deputy general manager technical, Gazi Anwar Kerio, said that it was the work of terrorists.

He said that repair teams had been called from Larkana and Shikarpur and added that gas supply would be restored soon.

KILLED: A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured while foiling theft at the Liaquat Katohar village in the wee hours of Thursday.

A gang of armed thieves broke into the house of Nooral Katohar and opened fire on resistance. As a result, Ms Sassui was killed and Nooral got injured. The thieves fled from the scene.
