MIRAMSHAH: Two ‘terrorists’ were killed and another was captured in an exchange of fire between security personnel and militants in Datakhel area of North Waziristan district on Friday.

Officials said an army captain and three soldiers were also wounded in the gunfight.

They said that in the fighting that took place in the Boya area near the Afghan border two terrorists were killed and another was arrested.

The names of the slain terrorists could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.

The name of the injured army officer was Capitan Adeel, official sources said.

Pictures of the dead terrorists were released to the media.

Meanwhile, unknown men riding a motorcycle shot dead a resident of Haiderkhel village in North Waziristan.

Police said that Yasin was going home when the gunmen opened fire on him. He received fatal injuries and died on the spot.

Target killing of civilians is on the rise in North Waziristan and 30 people have been killed since January in such incidents, according to sources.
