FAISALABAD: A broker was tortured allegedly by the owner of a poultry farm and his accomplices at Chak 485-GB, Muridwala, for buying chicken from his opponent.

A video of torture also went viral on the social media in which the broker was being slapped by the poultry farm owner claiming that he (broker) had given him fake currency notes of Rs1,000 denomination. However, the victim is insisting that he has done nothing wrong.

Some other people are also present on the spot when the broker was thrashed repeatedly by the farm owner who was also using foul language and one of his accomplices is also recording the video of torture.

An elderly man is also in seen, however, he did not stop the man from torturing the broker.

A man who was recording video was also threatening the victim that he had to serve jail for 10 years for circulating the fake currency notes.

The Muridwala police registered a case on the complaint of Sajjad, a broker of Chak 549-GB, against five people and arrested Nawaz and Babar.

He said the suspects detained him in a room and said they would teach him a lesson for not purchasing chicken from them.

Sajjad was tortured on Sept 28 last and a case was registered after delay of three days on Thursday.

GHOST WORKERS: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) registered a case against nine officials of the Faisalabad Development Authority and the Faisalabad Water and Sanitation Agency for recruiting ghost employees.

A spokesperson for the ACE said Sajjad Mohammad, of Jaranwala, submitted an application that officials had recruited dozens of ghost work charge employees in Wasa.

Following the application, the ACE inquiry recommended the registration of the case.

The officer detected that the Wasa officials and employees in connivance with the audit department officials had employed ghost employees and issuing them salaries.

A case was registered against director Malik Muhammad Azam, deputy director Javed Ghani, assistant director Waseem Baloch, senior accountant Saleem, auditor Tahir Mehmood, deputy director audit Ijaz Akhtar, senior clerk Nadeem, junior clerk Nadeem Javeed and clerk Ijaz with no arrest.
