The deputy commissioner of Karachi's West district has ordered the imposition of a mini smart lockdown in Saima Villas/Samama City located in UC-08 in Manghopir's Gadap Town after an increase in cases was reported.

The lockdown will remain in place for two weeks from October 1-15. The assistant commissioner of the area has been directed to "devise a proper lockdown security plan" in coordination with the police. Furthermore the AC has been ordered to "seal the [...] localities and provide logistical support" in coordination with the district health officer West and law enforcement agencies.

Authorities have been told to ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are strictly followed during the lockdown period.

According to the notification, masks will be mandatory for any person entering or leaving the area. Business and industrial activities will remain suspended and only grocery stores and pharmacies will be allowed to open. Private gatherings will be banned and only one person from each household in the area will be allowed to leave their residence to buy groceries and medicines.
