A meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has been informed of the rise in daily Covid-19 cases across the country, especially in Karachi.

"Out of a total of 747 positive cases in Pakistan [in the last 24 hours], 365 were reported only in Karachi," the NCOC was told.

Sindh health secretary apprised the forum that "civil administration is monitoring the situation and appropriate administrative actions will be taken after taking into account disease prevalence and spread pattern in consultation with all stakeholders".

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan said "smart lockdown, contact tracing and following health protocols was important for disease containment".
