Titles for Rawalpindi and Toba Tek Singh

LAHORE, Sept 24 Toba Tek Singh and Rawalpindi districts emerged as champions in the boys and girls team events of the Punjab Inter-district table tennis championship held at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex on Saturday. Toba Tek Singh outclassed Lahore 3-0 in the boys’ final while Rawalpindi proved too good for Sahiwal winning the girls’ final 3-1.

Earlier, Lahore entered the final, beating Bahawalnagar 3-1 in the semifinals while Toba Tek singh faced a good opposition from Rawalpindi before winning the pre-finals 3-2.

In the girls competition, Rawalpindi entered the final thrashing Sheikhupura 3-0 in the pre-finals while Sahiwal ousted Bahawalnagar 3-1.

Lahore beat Bahawalnagar 3-1: Yasir Hussain bt Amir 11-8, 7-11, 11-7, 11-8; Masood Ali bt Rehan Qureshi 11-9, 8-11, 11-7, 7-11, 11-9; Yasir-Rehan bt Masood-Amer 11-8, 9-11, 7-11, 11-6, 12-10; Yasir Hussain bt Masood 11-7, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7.

Toba Tek Singh beat Rawalpindi 3-2:
