Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that though Pakistan's 'smart' lockdown policy has "fortunately controlled the spread of the virus" but added that the country was "not complacent".

In his address to Financing for Development High-Level Summit, that took place on the sidelines of UNGA, the premier said that the G-20 debt suspension should be extended by another year so that poor countries can recover from the economic shock caused by Covid-19.

"Recovery from recession as from pandemic must be inclusive and equitable. We must break the shackles of poverty and inequality," he said.
