Seven teachers test positive for Covid-19 in KP

CHARSADDA/KARAK: As many as six teachers and one lecturer have tested positive for Covid-19 in Charsadda and Karak.

In Charsadda, one male and two female teachers of three government schools and a lecturer of the girls’ degree college tested positive for Covid-19.

Charsadda DHO Dr Mohammad Idrees told media persons that the positive cases were detected in government girls higher secondary schools in Hari Chand and Tangi and the high school, Hari Chand.

He said the infected teachers and students of their classes had been quarantined under the SOPs for five days.

The infected lecturer of government girls degree college, Tangi, and his students have also been quarantined. Swab samples of girls’ students have been collected and sent for laboratory test.

In Karak, Covid-19 was detected in three female teachers of Government Girls’ Centennial Model School, Karak. The school was closed for five days under the SOPs.

Sources in the health department said that tests were conducted in different schools and three female teachers of the centennial model school, Karak, were detected Covid-19 positive.
