SPSC incompetence

Published September 21, 2020

THE Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) is one of the prestigious institutions of Sindh which conducts different competitive exams for vacancies in government departments in the province.

The SPSC conducts the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) which was not a regular annual feature till 2018, when it came to be held annually. However, their pace of work is excruciatingly slow.

The SPSC held the written part of the CCE 2019 in April of that year and 16 months have passed but there is no word about the result or when successful candidates will be called for interviews.

Similarly, the posts of deputy superintendent of Prisons (DSP) in the home department were announced in May 2017, but the SPSC has still not conducted the test for those vacancies!

Naturally the youth who are keen to sit these exams are at their wits end on how and when they will start their careers.
