DADU: Qalandar’s Urs begins

DADU, Sept 23: The 753rd Urs of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz was inaugurated by Sindh Minister for Auqaf Sardar Manzoor Panhwar on Friday. Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad changed his schedule and did not reach Sehwan to inaugurate the Urs.

Thousands of devotees and police scuffled and police resorted to baton charge to reduce rush of the devotees to the Mazar. Breakdown of electricity, water shortage and choking drainage system affected activities of thousands devotees. Traffic remained jam for hours on the Indus highway owing to negligence of traffic police.
