SIALKOT: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar has said that a master plan has been chalked out for providing the upgraded and advanced municipal facilities to the people of Sialkot city.

He said the master plan would be ensured in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) by keeping in mind the future needs of the next 30 to 40 years. He said this at a meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) officials and the Sialkot district administration at DC Office here on Sunday.

The SAPM said that under the master plan, availability of potable water, upgradation of Sialkot city’s clogged sewerage system, solid waste management, upgradation of tranport system and parks would be ensured for providing pollution-free atmosphere to the people. It would be ensured in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Sialkot Municipal Corporation as well.

He said the master plan would have short and long-term benefits enabling people to get maximum benefits of these projects. He said the upgradation and beautification of the city was the top priority of the government.

AVIATION: Vision Air International Chief Executive Officer and chairman Capt Ijaz Ali Faizi says they will help the Sialkot International Airport become a great identity in the aviation world.

He said this at the Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) Secretariat while signing an MoU between the two services to start aircraft repair work, further improve ground handling services, expand the cargo business and provide training facilities to the SIAL staff.

SIAL chairman Mian Naeem Javed presided over the MoU signing ceremony.

Captain Faizi said he was very happy that SIAL and his company were entering into a new era in the world of aviation. Sialkot Airport could prove to be a new major route between South East Asian countries and Europe, while the launch of aircraft repairs here could prove to be a great facility for domestic and foreign airlines, he said.

Mian Naeem Javed said that today is an important milestone in the history of the Sialkot International Airport. “We have been able to use only 20pc of this airport. Now we are trying to introduce it to the world in a new way by equipping it with more modern facilities,” he added.

He hoped that the two companies would work together to make Sialkot Airport an ideal airport.
