LOWER DIR: A woman and two children were killed while three others injured when a van plunged into a deep ravine at Nawagai in the jurisdiction of Asbanr police station here on Wednesday, residents and the police said.

They said that due to brakes’ failure the vehicle went out of the driver’s control and fell into a ravine. As a result, a woman identified as wife of Ali Sher, her son Ilyas, 10, and a boy, Sudais, 9, were killed on the spot. Three others were injured who were identified as Naik Khan, Taj Bibi and wife of Ahmad. They were shifted to a nearby hospital.

The Asbanr police registered a case and started further investigations.
