RAWALPINDI: The newly posted Regional Police Officer Imran Ahmar on Tuesday pledged to eliminate land mafia (land grabbers) and anyone from the police department found backing such elements would be sent to jail.

The RPO was addressing his first press conference at his office on Tuesday.

While announcing his four-point agenda, the RPO clarified that there was no space for the Qabza Mafia as he was 100pc clear in this regard.

Corrupt elements will not be allowed to bargain on the blood of martyrs, better service delivery will be ensured with free and prompt registration of FIRs.

“The law and order situation in Rawalpindi region is better than the previous years,” RPO said and added: “My priority would be to achieve 100pc result in the free registration of FIRs.”

The RPO said after the registration of FIR, the other stages through which the crime victims had to pass should also be improved.

While highlighting the media role in the society, the RPO said successful policing is possible only when the police and the media play their role through mutual cooperation.
