LOWER DIR: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has said that enacting laws on the dictation of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) would endanger sovereignty of the country.

He was addressing the 80th foundation day function of the party in Koto the other day. The function was also addressed by JI district emir Izazul Mulk Afkari, tehsil emir Advocate Imranud Din, Shafiullah Khan and others.

Siraj said that the country was being run on the dictation of IMF, World Bank and FATF. He said that PTI government indebted the nation by Rs4,300 billion.

The JI chief said that interior and foreign policies of the government had no logic. He said that PTI, PPP and PML-N were forced by international lobbies to pass laws from the parliament as per their wishes.

He alleged that situation in the country was deteriorating. He said that PTI chief Imran Khan had promised the nation to bring visible changes within the first 100 days of his government.

Later addressing another function at the district bar Timergara, the JI chief said that the nation remembered the judicial officers, who always delivered just and transparent verdicts. He asked the lawyers to fight for the supremacy of law.

HOSPITAL: The attendants of gastroenteritis patients from different parts of the district have demanded of the government to provide essential medical equipment and lifesaving drugs to the gastroenterology unit of the district headquarters hospital.

They told this scribe on the premises of the hospital that gastroenterology units of the health facility lacked expensive lifesaving drugs and essential equipment.

They said that scores of patients with stomach, liver and intestinal disorders from Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Bajaur and Chitral visited the hospital daily to get free medical treatment at the gastroenterology unit.

They lauded the performance of the unit but complained that it was short of lifesaving drugs and essential equipment. They also demanded of the authorities to establish a separate ward for relevant patients.

Meanwhile, Health Regulatory Authority sealed a dental clinic in Samarbagh and booked a dental practitioner for having no legal documents or degree. The RHA team also sealed a clinical laboratory.

Also, an anti-encroachment drive was launched at Munda Bazaar and several shopkeepers were booked at Haya Serai Bazaar for violating food Act.
