LAHORE: All affairs related to the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development project must be finalised at the earliest because it is a “game changer” project of the PTI government, says Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Talking to Project Chairman Rashid Aziz, who called on him at his office on Thursday, the chief minister said that no previous government started the project as they only believed in lip service, whereas the PTI believes in practical work.

Mr Buzdar added that the credit went to the PTI government for launching the project under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

No one can deny economic, social, and environmental signifi-cance of the project. This project will bring revolution and boost economic and investment activities. He said that the project was of great importance for reducing the environmental pollution of the provincial metropolis.

He said that opportunities of safe investment of billions of rupees would be made available not only for the expatriates but national and international investors as well. The project will generate thousands of jobs and 90 per cent utilisation of local goods will promote Pakistani industries. He maintained that the project would become an example for the coming decades.

Mr Buzdar assured the chairman, who apprised him about the important matters of the project, of all out cooperation and support by the Punjab government. Also, the chief minister expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives due to heavy rain in Punjab and other provinces.

He extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences with the family members of the deceased.

He also condoled over the loss of precious lives in various incidents of electrocution and collapse of roofs and prayed that may Almighty Allah rest the depart souls in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
