ISLAMABAD, Sept 21: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday approved the appointments of 22 officials as trade officers in Pakistani missions abroad. According to an official announcement on Wednesday, BS-20 officer Azam Muhammad, joint secretary, ministry of commerce, Islamabad, had been posted at Sydney. Rizwan Bashir Khan, secretary, planning and development department, government of Punjab, Lahore, has been posted at Istanbul.

BS-19 officers Syed Zafar Ali Shah, district coordination officer, Upper Dir District (NWFP), posted at Kabul; Asim Imdad Ali, deputy secretary, Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Islamabad, at Hamburg; Mian Asad Hayyauddin, deputy secretary, ministry of commerce, Islamabad, at Chicago; Muhammad Majid Qureshi, deputy secretary, ministry of commerce, Islamabad, at Urmchi; Amjad Iqbal, additional commissioner, Large Taxpayers Unit, Lahore, at Nairobi; Khawaja Humayun Nizami, senior vice-president, Muslim Commercial Bank, Karachi, at Bangkok; Muhammad Misbah Tunio, district coordination officer, Tando Allah Yar, at Kandahar; Viqar Mahmud Khilji, deputy director, Federal Investigation Agency, Lahore, at Lagos; Babar Hayat Tarar, additional secretary, Governor’s Secretariat Punjab, Lahore, at Madrid; Javed Akbar, additional secretary/PSO to the chief minister Punjab, Chief Minister Secretariat, Lahore, at Stockholm; and Mrs Azra Mujtaba, commercial counsellor, Embassy of Pakistan, Mexico, at Frankfurt.

The BS-18 officers posted at Pakistani missions abroad are: Aamir Khan, group management accountant, Unilever Pakistan Ltd, Karachi, at the Hague; Syed Hamid Ali, secretary, customs and central excise department, Lahore, at Jakarta; Ms Saira Abbas, director to the commerce minister, ministry of commerce, at London; Bilal Khan Pasha, staff officer to the secretary commerce, ministry of commerce, Islamabad, at Dubai; Ahmad Mukhtar, section officer, ministry of commerce, Islamabad, at Geneva; Muhammad Akhtar, deputy secretary, health department, government of Balochistan, Quetta, at Baku; Muhammad Saeed Khan Jadoon, deputy collector, collectorate of customs, Customs Station, Torkham, at Tehran; Feroze Alam Junejo, commercial secretary (designate), Embassy of Pakistan at Almaty, re-allocated to Mexico; and Shahid Aziz, private sector, posted at Almaty.
