PCF to stage Peshawar, Rawapindi race

LAHORE, Sept 19: The Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) will hold a race from Peshawar to Rawalpindi, for the first time, on Oct 2. In the national level competition, Army, Railways, Wapda, Sui Southern Gas and four provinces will enter their teams.

According to the programme, the race will start from Peshawar at 8am.

The cyclists will reach Rawalpindi, the same afternoon.

The top position holder will get Rs 25,000, the runners-up Rs 15,000 and the third Rs 10,000.

Besides, a cash prize of Rs 5,000 will be given to the 4th, 5th and the 6th position holders.

Secretary Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) Idris Haider Khawaja said that the race was being held specially to hone the skills of the players for the forthcoming 10th South Asian Games to be held in Sri Lanka next month.

Such events, he said, were to be competed in the regional games.
