JACOBABAD, Sept 19: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has condemned the alleged kidnapping of Sapna and assured his support to the Hindu community.

He was talking to the president of the Hindu General Panchayat, Baboo Mahesh Kumar, on telephone from London on Monday.

Mr Hussain said he shared the anxiety of the community and would talk to senior officials of the Sindh and the federal government. He said Hindus were original Sindhis and if injustice was committed to them the government should take serious steps to redress their grievances.

PPP’s central leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim also talked on telephone with Baboo Mahesh and condemned the kidnapping.

He said he would take up the issue in the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, a protest meeting was held at the Panchayat hall which was attended by the leaders of the Hindu community from different districts of Sindh and Balochistan.

The meeting decided to wait till the timeframe given by district police officials.

A police investigation team headed by ASP Mushtaq Gohar Bhutto reached Jacobabad on directives of RPO Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui.
