LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has ordered start of clinical audit of the government hospitals of the province.

Presiding over a meeting at the specialised health and medical education department on Tuesday, she issued instructions for clinical audit of the three major public hospitals in Lahore in the first phase of the scheme.

Health Secretary Nabeel Awan, Special Secretary Salwat Saeed, Additional Secretary Dr Asif Tufail and other officials concerned were also present.

The meeting reviewed different recommendations for the clinic audit of government hospitals, according to a handout.

The secretary and other officers briefed the minister about the details of formation of different committees for the hospitals’ clinical audit.

The minister said that the number of patients had increased tremendously due to improvement of quality of medical facilities being provided in the government hospitals of Punjab.

She said the public feedback regarding medical facilities being provided in these hospitals would be helpful for further improving the situation.

Attendance of professors and doctors, patients’ feedback, medical facilities, repair of medical equipment and attitude of doctors towards the patients would be kept in view while conducting clinical audit of thehospitals.

Dr Yasmin Rashid said the meeting would be called twice a month to review the progress on the hospitals’ clinical audit.
