KARACHI: Pakistan Navy rescue and emergency response teams conducted a disaster relief operation in the rain-hit areas of Dadu district in collaboration with the civil administration.

Due to torrential rains and breach of Nai Gaaj dam, many villages in the area had been flooded. The PN rescue teams, employing motorboats and life-saving equipment, reached out to the areas hit by heavy rain and flash flood since Sunday morning.

The teams have already evacuated a large number of local inhabitants stranded in the adjoining areas of Johi. Relief goods and ration have also been provided to over 400 families. Besides, medical camps with necessary medical facilities have been established for the affected people.

In order to extend rescue efforts to far-flung inundated areas, a hovercraft has also been stationed at Johi to further augment relief efforts.
