LARKANA: Five ADP councillors join KPP

LARKANA, Sept 18: Five councillors of the Awam Dost Panel from the Badah town joined the Khushhal Pakistan Panel on Saturday in the presence of Sindh minister Altaf Unnar. The names of councillors are: Ghulam Fatima Solangi, Rabia Bughio, Lal Bakhsh Junejo, Sasee Bai Oad and Shevadari, a minority councillor from the union council-2.

The former nazim of the UC-2, Athar Abbas Solangi, also left the PPP to join the PML, saying that the PPP did not support him properly in the local body elections. He had been defeated by the KPP candidate.

Mr Unnar said that five more ADP councillors would soon join the PML. He did not reveal their names.

Shafqat Unnar, the candidate for Dokri taluka nazim was also present on the occasion.

The PPP district president and MPA Ayaz Soomro refused to comment on the change of loyalty by the councillors.: Meeting at KU

KARACHI, Sept 18: A national conference will be organized by the Department of International Relations, University of Karachi, from Sept 22. A KU spokesman in a statement issued here said the topic of the two-day moot, to be held in collaboration with Unesco, will be “Ethics, values and social transformation: perspective from Pakistan”.
