LAKKI MARWAT: Torrential rain caused flood in rainwater nullahs in Betani tribal subdivision of the district on Thursday.

According to reports, the flood also caused suspension of traffic between Tajori town and the tribal subdivision.

“The tribesmen remained stuck for quite some time in their villages and could not travel to Tajori town for shopping and other works,” said a youth Shakir Betanni.

He said that tribal people in Tajori town also faced hardships to reach their villages as flood affected traffic flow for several hours.

Meanwhile, the district administration closed an illegal cattle market in Gandi Khankhel town on Thursday.

An official said that the administration had also got information about the gross violation of SOPs already issued by the government for containing coronavirus.

He said that additional AC Aminullah Khan along with a police party reached the town and closed the illegal cattle market. He directed the traders to take their animals to the markets established by TMA.

Later, he visited the cattle market in Naurang town and took notice of violation of the SOPs by both traders and buyers.

KILLED: A man was shot dead over an old enmity in Jabukhel village here on Thursday.

Police said the killers came on a motorcycle and sprayed one Farmanullah with bullets, killing him on the spot.

Complainant Inshaullah told police that he and his brother were in the guestroom when their rivals, including Wahid and Zahir Khan, came on a motorcycle.

“Farmanullah who was in the courtyard noticed them and tried to enter a room, but by then he had come under attack,” he said. The police have registered the case.
