MALEEHA Lodhi’s criticism of PTI for its handling of Covid-19 sounds a bit surprising. In fact, the Imran Khan-led government has been, from day one, very consistent in its response to the pandemic.

The prime minister’s opposition to the lockdown has proved today that the virus in Pakistan was not as lethal as some sections of opposition and media portrayed it to be.

Whether it was medical equipment or food commodities, the government has always put itself ahead of time and ensured a smooth supply. Through Ehsaas Programme it was ensured that the most vulnerable are cared well in those testing times.

While the overall governance of PTI remains questionable, as far as Covid-19 is concerned, Imran Khan surely gets a clean chit.
