Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has appealed to the nation to follow precautionary measures during Eidul Azha, urging the public to refrain from thinking of this as "a normal Eid".

"We have to follow standard operating procedures for curbing the spread of the virus. The basic objective is to stop crowding and minimise interactions with others."

He added that there were five things each individual could do to stop curb the spread of the virus. These include wearing a face mask when leaving the house, maintaining a safe distance from others when in public, maintaining personal hygiene, taking care of the elderly and taking care of those suffering from other ailments.

He cautioned the nation against repeating the mistakes made on Eidul Fitr, adding that the slightest irresponsibility could cause a spike in cases.
