Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that August 9 will be celebrated as Tiger Force Day on which volunteers from the Corona Relief Tiger Force will lead a plantation campaign across the country.

Addressing the volunteers, the premier said: "To all the volunteers, I am telling you that you have to lead this [campaign] on August 9. Our youth and school students must participate in this exercise."

He added that planting trees in the country was necessary for tackling the adverse effects of global warming and combating an increase in pollution.

He concluded his message by appealing to citizens to volunteer for the force, adding that the government was planning to set a record for planting the most amount of trees on this day.
