SAHIWAL, Sept 17: Three members of a family were killed and four injured on Friday night in a road accident on Sahiwal-Multan Road near Chak 115/15-L. Reports said a family was going to Bosan Waryam (Multan) from Lahore by a car (MNS-6392). Near Chak 115/15-L, the vehicle fell into a ditch in a bid to overtake a donkey car.
As a result of which Dilawar Hasnain, his mother Khadeeja and aunt Saleema were killed on the spot while driver Hadayat and Dilawar’s children - Rabia (4), Samreena (2) and an infant - were injured and admitted to Nishter Hospital.
POWER SUSPENDED: Two Wapda transformers broke down here suspending power supply to many areas.
Reports said a transformer in police lines broke down on Saturday when a tree fell on it. As a result of which electricity supply to scheme No.2, central jail, police lines and Jahaz ground remained suspended for six hours.
On Railway Road, the transformer broke down on Friday night at 9pm, suspending supply to Stadium Road and other city areas for 19 hours.
Citizens have demanded suspension of the line superintendent and SDO.
