LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has asked Chief Minister Usman Buzdar why he needs a resolution passed by the provincial cabinet in his favour since the opposition is not bringing a no-confidence motion against him.

“Usman Buzdar knows that some cabinet members are conspiring against him and his position is very weak. That is why he needs such an endorsement from the cabinet members,” PML-N Punjab Information Secretary Azma Bokhari said on Wednesday in response to the cabinet meeting that expressed confidence in the leadership of Mr Buzdar.

The PML-N lawmaker said the opposition was in no hurry to topple Buzdar and Niazi governments. “Imran Khan Niazi and Usman Buzdar have threats not from the opposition but from their own members,” she said, adding that the turncoats in the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) ranks could abandon Niazi anytime soon.

MPA Bokhari exclaimed that PTI members had no ideology as they were a “bunch of opportunists sent in the Imran Niazi party from other political parties”.

She also claimed that some Punjab ministers were not ready to work under Buzdar. “Mr Buzdar, instead of getting a resolution passed in his favour, should find conspirators in his cabinet,” she suggested.
