KOHAT: The district police officer has ordered a crackdown on organised crimes of non-custom paid items and vehicles, land grabbing, gambling, prostitution, sale of drugs and arms smuggling.

Chairing a meeting on Sunday, DPO Javed Iqbal said all resources should be utilised to arrest criminal gangs involved in theft, street crimes and highway robberies.

The meeting was attended by SP operations Tahir Iqbal, ASP headquerters Danial Ahmed Javed, DSP city Bashir Dad and SHO of all police stations.

Mr Iqbal said prostitution dens should also be wounded up by making the people involved in immoral activities as an example. He said supply line of drugs, especially ice, should be crushed without any leniency.

He said special crackdown should be launched on gang leaders of extortionists.

He asked the policemen to refrain from activities which defame the sanctity of the department.

RELIEF PACKAGE: MPA Ranjeet Singh distributed relief package among destitute people belonging to minorities on behalf of the Talha Mehmood Foundation on Sunday.

On the occasion, he appreciated the role of the foundation of Senator Talha Mehmood for helping the people in need.

He said since the Covid-19 pandemic, the foundation had taken helping the needy, widows and special people as a mission.

He thanked the senator for remembering the minorities in these difficult times.

MPA Ranjeed Singh expressed the hope that the senator would continue to help the poor in future as well.
