KARACHI, Sept 15: The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology will start a four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) programme in Media Sciences, possibly from the next month, says a FUUAST release issued here on Thursday.

In this regard BS Media Science programme committee met here with Vice-Chancellor Dr Syed Iqbal Mohsin in the chair. Former managing director of PTV, Farhad Zaidi, Zakaria Sajid of the University of Karachi, Tauseef Ahmed Khan and Saleem Mughal of FUUAST, and Jami Moez of Tele-Biz attended the meeting.

The meeting was told that this four-year programme was chalked out on the recommendations of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and it would replace the MA (Mass Communication).

Admissions will be granted on the basis of all-Pakistan merit. The minimum admission criteria would be 50 per cent marks in Intermediate exams and passing of aptitude test. The programme would be comprised on eight semesters and 130 credit hours.—PPI
